What this tool calculates
Surface loading or flux is flow divided by active filter area. The required-area result reverses that relationship using the target flux you enter. The equivalent round diameter simply converts that required area into a circle for quick planning.
What it does not calculate
Pressure drop through filter media, housings and piping depends on the fluid, viscosity, media condition, geometry and manufacturer data. We intentionally keep that separate rather than imply one generic pressure-drop formula fits every filtration system.
